The Word of God works.  Every single time it works.  Stand on it.  Wrap your arms around it.  Grip it with your hands.  NEVER let it go.

Don’t live your life by popular opinion.  Don’t live it to make people applaud you.  Don’t let your emotions rule your life.

Now’s not the time to go back to the play-pen and put back on your diaper.  Now is the time to stand up and hold fast.  Don’t revert to old ways.  Don’t go around the same mountain 20 more times.  Don’t go around it ONE more time.  Get up.  Do what it takes.  Stop waiting for the right decision to feel good or natural.  It might hurt a little.  Do it anyway.

For anyone who has been reading through these rather war-like posts, I sincerely thank you.  I do.  I really mean that.

When I write like I’ve been writing, I don’t mean to be harsh or condemning towards you or myself or anyone else, but rather towards the subtle and not-so-subtle attacks that try to permeate our lives every single day.

King David was a fearless warrior.  A brave fighter.  A man of integrity.  But do you know what decision preceded his greatest downfall?  Staying home while a war was being waged.

The reason a lot of us are in the messes we’re in is because we’re staying home when there’s a battle to be fought.  No more.  Don’t sit around and think that your battles will win themselves.  They won’t.  The same battle that will face you five months from now after you get tired of defeat is facing you right now.  Stop talking about your authority after you hear an inspiring message, then living in submission to satan.  If you really believe you have authority over satan, why aren’t you living it?  I’m speaking to myself here too.

I always get to work like 30 minutes early.  Not because I want to, but because if I don’t leave at a certain time, it’ll take me twice as long to get there.  So during those 30 minutes, I sit in my car and hang out with God.  And you know what?  I might even start taking a journal with me and using that time to write.  Then later I could put it up on here.  Unless it’s rambly and pointless like most of my hand-written journal entries are.  In which case, I won’t.

I love you guys.  I read your comments on my last post at least three times each.  And now, I’m ready to write… something.  I’m not sure what, but we’ll find out when we get there.

And may I just say…  I’d keep writing even if you didn’t read, but it sure makes my heart happy to know that you do read.  I’m so glad we’re all in this together.  You guys inspire and encourage me to new levels with God.  I love you all.

If there’s one thing I hear God speaking to me concerning this new year, it’s: Don’t give up.  Don’t turn back.  Keep fighting.  Keep pressing towards the goal. The change in calendars is not an opportunity to lay down my sword on all the battles I fought in 2008 and start fighting a new battle; instead, it’s time for me to grab my sword all the tighter and finish the fight I started in 2008 and, finally, to receive the prize.

I hope you answered yes to my question posed at the end of yesterday’s blog.  It’s time for God’s warriors to arise.  It’s not time for us to flee or look the other way or hide when the enemy, satan, stalks us with threats of terror.  No, it’s time to take that sword in your hands, stand your ground, look him straight in the eye and demand that he not only back off, but that he repay to you seven times what he’s already stolen away.  Do not relent.  Do not back down.  In the Bible, when a thief stole something, he not only had to pay back what he stole; he had to pay back seven times what was stolen.  Why should we hold satan to a lesser standard?  He is the ultimate thief.

Her hands are small.  She is clothed in white.  A strand of long dark hair hangs loosely in her face.  She lifts her head and, with a finger, tucks the strand behind her ear.  In the distance, she can see them.  Their number is many.  They shout and yell, their voices vibrate through the misty air.  They march forward. The stomp of their feet causes the ground to shake.  Behind her is an endless meadow.  It’s not too late to run.  But she can’t, she won’t.  Her small hands reach down to her side.  Her dainty fingers wrap themselves around the hilt of the sword.  It’s time.

Aren’t you glad to live in America?  Aren’t you glad we have the freedom to step out of our houses, travel to the polling places, and vote freely - with no intimidation or fear?

Day 1: Of the 200,000,000 sperm that try to penetrate the mother’s egg cell, only one succeeds. At that very moment, a new and unique individual is formed. All of the inherited features of this new person are already set – whether it’s a boy or girl, the color of the eyes, the color of the hair, the dimples of the cheeks and the cleft of the chin. He or she is smaller than a grain of sugar, but the instructions are present for all that this person will ever become. The first cell soon divides in two. Each of these new cells divides again and again as they travel toward the womb in search of a protected place to grow.
