David ran to meet Goliath.
“As Goliath moved closer to the attack, David quickly ran out to meet him.” -1 Samuel 17: 48
Every time I read the story of David and Goliath, this verse sticks out at me. It grabs my heart. It challenges me. It convicts me. It breeds a deeper relentlessness inside of me.
David didn’t cower in the corner as he waited to face Goliath. He didn’t take a few steps back as he realized, “Man, this guy’s a lot bigger than I thought he’d be.” He didn’t run and hide. He didn’t even just stand there and wait. He ran towards him!

I hope you answered yes to my question posed at the end of yesterday’s blog. It’s time for God’s warriors to arise. It’s not time for us to flee or look the other way or hide when the enemy, satan, stalks us with threats of terror. No, it’s time to take that sword in your hands, stand your ground, look him straight in the eye and demand that he not only back off, but that he repay to you seven times what he’s already stolen away. Do not relent. Do not back down. In the Bible, when a thief stole something, he not only had to pay back what he stole; he had to pay back seven times what was stolen. Why should we hold satan to a lesser standard? He is the ultimate thief.
