Who am I?
I’m David, a shepherd boy hidden in the fields. I’m not part of the crowd. I wasn’t inside when Samuel came to anoint the new King. I’m the youngest. I’m small. But God sees me. He finds me.
I’m Gideon. I’m the youngest in my family. I’m from the smallest tribe. But God calls me “Mighty Warrior” and chooses me to carry out mighty exploits.
I’m Esther. I’m unlikely. I’m tucked away. I’m minding my own business. But God has grabbed me by the hand and is ushering me to the palace.
I’m Jacob. I’ve wrestled with God and now my walk will never be the same.
I’m Abraham. I’ve been given an impossible promise, but, like Abraham: “When everything was hopeless, [he] believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.”
I’m Joseph. I will soon be plucked from prison and ushered into the palace.
I’m Eleazar (one of David’s mighty men). I’m standing my ground and will continue to fight the enemy, even as my hands grow tired and become frozen to the sword.
My name is Michelle. And I’m pleased to meet you.
